Slow Cooker Sirloin & Potatoes
Looking for a hearty, easy-to-make meal that brings out the best in Silo Springs Ranch beef? This Slow Cooker Sirloin & Potatoes recipe is packed with flavor, simple to prepare, and perfect for busy days. Tender sirloin steak, creamy potatoes, and a rich, cheesy sauce come together in this comforting dish.
Ingredients:
1.5 pounds of Silo Springs Ranch Sirloin Steak, cut into bite-size pieces
2 pounds potatoes, thinly sliced (Yukon Gold or Russet work well)
1 small onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1.5 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup beef broth
0.5 cups sour cream
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions:
Season the steak – Toss the steak pieces in a bowl with salt, pepper, and paprika to evenly coat.
Sear the steak – In a skillet, heat tallow or butter over medium-high heat and sear the steak pieces until browned. This locks in the flavor!
Layer in the slow cooker – Place half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom of the slow cooker. Add half of the diced onions and minced garlic. Then, layer half of the seared steak over the vegetables. Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
Pour in the broth – Evenly distribute the beef broth over the layers to keep everything tender and flavorful as it cooks.
Slow cook – Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the potatoes are tender.
Finish with cheese & sour cream – Once fully cooked, stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream for a creamy, savory finish. Let it sit for 5 minutes to meld the flavors before serving.
Serving Suggestions:
This dish is rich and filling on its own, but it pairs wonderfully with a fresh side salad or roasted vegetables. For an extra kick, sprinkle on some chopped green onions or a dash of hot sauce!
